On my Mac Pro external cd-drive not recognized when plugged in

Hey Everyone - i have the exact same issue. I already set the external hardwar cd etc to be shown when inserted. Nothing is coming up. It worked an hour ago, after that i tried diff CDs, doesnt show up.

My Mac Pro is sonoma 14.5 - the external drive i use is Kosee and connected with an anker drive to my mac. i tried everything recommended online, but stil doesnt show up - i have the same issue with one. of my external drive - Its new, never used and its not showing up - can someone help?

Thank you so much for your time! Yes the port works, just for testing i connected my external drive directly into the macbook via usb-c ( no other ports in between )

In the system report i can see the drive, but nowhere else. The drive is in fact empty, because its new and i never used it. The mA looks like this - maybe its not enough??

Do other USB things work in that port?

Does it show in System Report?

How many mA are used or available?

Remember that MacOS does not display empty drives on the desktop, only Mounted Volumes.

So even if the drive is working perfectly, if it has no disc in it, it will not show up on the desktop.
