changing password for "smtp.mail.me.com" server

Cannot access my outlook nor apple email using Windows 10 Outlook Mail App because it wants a password I can't remember. Others say to use your Apple ID PW, but I tried that and it doesn't work. How can I reset this password? I don't know what "account settings" I'm supposed to look at, would it be Outlook, and where's that?

Windows, Windows 10

smtp.mail.me.com

SMTP is a server for outgoing mail, not for incoming mail. Port 587. Security: STARTTLS (sometimes listed as TLS).

For incoming mail use the IMAP server.

… password …

I think a generated “app-specific password” for authentication is needed, as linked through your Apple ID. Like an extra password for special purpose, that is different from your actual account password.
