Updated to OS Monterey 12.7.6 on iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) and now the Safari icon is greyed-out. When I click on it I get the message "You can’t open the application “Safari.app” because this application is not supported on this Mac."
I tried restarting my iMAC but it didn't fix the problem.
I don't want to switch to Google as a browser! I have all my tabs/bookmarks etc. in Safari!
PLEASE HELP!

If I recall correctly, I had to update Safari independently of macOS Monterey. Open Safari, click Safari > About to see your current version. The latest version is Safari 17.6: About the security content of Safari 17.6 - Apple Support.
You could also try to reinstall macOS: How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support.
If I'm not mistaken, there is a separate Safari update for macOS Monterey: Safari version 17.6. Go to System Preferences > Software Update to see if a Safari update is available.
What if you right-click on Safari.app in the Applications folder and choose Get Info? You should see the version as the last entry in the General section.
No that's not working—Since the Safari App is a part of the OS and any updates, all I get is "your Mac is up to date".. No option for a separate Safari update. (See screenshot)
The only thing I can think to do is revert to an earlier version of the OS? Can I do that?

This happened right after I updated to OS Monterey 12.7.6
Has anyone found a fix? My safari is updated to the latest version and it’s completely non functional after the Monterey 12.7.6 update. In fact, almost nothing is working properly now. Apple needs to address this asap.
