My computer keeps asking for password to unlock the disk "Macintosh HD" even if I put correct password

my computer keeps asking for password to unlock the disk "Macintosh HD". i enter the correct password and the apple logo appears and it asks for the password again

Hi,

I assume your boot drive is corrupted, you need to run FirstAid on your startup drive.

First of all you need to startup in Recovery mode, then run FirstAid of DiskUtility on your boot drive which could solve your issue.

If it doesn't help, you would need to reinstall macOS with Recovery mode.
