iPhone 15 - Involuntary Voice Control Activation while Using Spotify

Since upgrading to iPhone 15, when using Spotify, the phone will randomly activate "voice control" with a loud beep, pauses the music and seems to be listening for some command. THEN almost always starts skipping 10-20 seconds at time through my songs until it gets to the end, skips to the next song and proceeds skipping through it.

It's super annyoying, and yes: (a) I've turned off Siri and Voice Control (never even set up voice control), and it still does it, (b) deleted and reloaded the Spotify app, (c) rebooted the phone.

Last datapoint: this only happens when I have wires connected to the USB-C port (specifically, I am connecting my phone as a source to a mixing board, running the output back to a personal mixer/my headphones. All the microphones in the studio are unplugged, and its just my electronic drum kit and the iPhone making sound when this happens.
