When I use my Master Card Debit card to pay it sometimes shows as paid using Apple Cash Visa

When I activated Apple Cash on my iPhone I didn't realize it was going to act as a virtual credit card. When I use my Mastercard Debit to pay in stores, it sometimes shows on the receipt as paid with Apple Cash Visa. When I tried to make a return one time, the cashier asked for my physical debit card so I handed her my Mastercard Debit, but she said she needed the actual Visa card that was used to make purchase, which surprised me not realizing that the purchase was made via Apple Cash. After 15 minutes of explanation, the issue was resolved, but my question here is what do I need to do in iPhone settings to deactivate the Apple Cash Visa card, and make my Mastercard Debit the only card for purchases? In settings, I have already turned-off Apple Cash, and removed the Visa Card from wallet, but under "card info" in settings, my physical card shows as Mastercard (which I want), but Apple Pay Visa is still showing below it. It somehow attached itself to my Mastercard Network. Any suggestions on how to remove this?

So, part of my Apple Wallet looks like this,

When I tap the card I want it looks like this,

Then I tap the More button in the upper right corner (red arrow) and see this.

I see my last 4 digits for the physical card, Apple Pay and the Payment Network, Visa in this case. You’re saying that you have a card that is showing the wrong payment network? Is that correct?

In my Mastercard Network there is a physical card that shows the last 4 digits of the card. Directly below this is the Apple Pay Visa card with its unique 4 digit number. When I make purchases the transaction sometimes uses the Visa card number via the Mastercard network. I'm trying to remove the Visa card residue so that Mastercard is the only card used.

Yes, I’m using Mastercard. It’s mostly not a problem. The only snag is when I have to make a return and

can’t provide a physical Apple Pay Visa card when the transaction was drawn from the Apple Pay Visa card. It’s random. When I first activated Apple Cash on my phone I would get a message asking which card I wanted to use, but now it randomly selects from the two cards automatically. I guess I just have to get use to it.

Yes, somewhat correct. I understand why the numbers are different, I just don't understand why they're both showing-up in my Mastercard network in my iPhone settings. It would be clearer if they were separate. Meaning, "card info" for Mastercard, and "card info" for Apple Cash Visa. That's the only thing throwing me off. Ultimately, I just want to use only my Mastercard debit to pay for items, and do away with the virtual Apple Cash Visa card.

And also you're correct, I don't understand this at all, lol.

Sorry if my ignorance is frustrating you. I do appreciate your guidance.
