state ID showing no image

Please contact Apple support at 1-800-MY-APPLE. The service only went live yesterday, 09/19/2024. It could just be that the CA servers are overwhelmed with signups etc. I’d give it a few days and if the issues persists contact Apple Support at the number above.

I’m not sure you’re aware that the only place that recognizes these ID’s as valid is TSA at select airports in the US. You still need to carry your drivers license for operating a motor vehicle.

1. ID in Apple Wallet is available in select states at select TSA checkpoints (travelers should refer to checkpoint signage to confirm availability). ID verifier is available at select merchants. Requires iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16.5 or later, or Apple Watch Series 4 or later with WatchOS 9.5 or later. For California, ID in Apple Wallet requires iPhone XS or later with iOS 17.5 or later, or Apple Watch Series 4 or later with WatchOS 10 or later. See here for details.

Deleting and adding my ID again on iPhone SE (3rd gen) fixed the issue for me.

What state are you in? Some states aren’t displaying an image and specifically state the e-wallet will not display an actual image of the ID/license.
