iPhone 16 Pro Max keyboard issues

Has anyone figured out a fix to this???? It’s like my keyboard can’t keep up with how fast I am typing.

ughhh, so frustrating.

iphone 16 pro max lack of responsiveness. So hard to create long messages. You have double click letters for it to respond.

I improved this by going to Settings > assistive touch, scroll to bottom, and sliding the tracking sensitivity to the right. Seems to be a new setting. Improved the issue.

What I’m noticing right now was it’s not only the keyboard when you’re typing. It’s the whole screen. It’s like delayed or you have to double tap to respond.

I am having a lot of the same issues. I had the iPhone 13 Pro Max before the iPhone 16 Pro Max and I was able to type/text flawlessly and very quickly without any errors to what I was typing (or auto-correct would fix minor mistakes) and now, I cannot type ANY message/text without errors and I know it is not because I have missed letters. It is not registering when I click on the letters and auto-correct is not working the same as well. This is very frustrating. I just turned off the beta hoping that would help and it is not.

After updating to 18.0.1 today nothing about this issue has been fixed on my side. Same lack of responsiveness still exists on my side!

I have been having this issue as well. I am on iOS 18.1 (22B5069a) on iPhone 16 pro max. Here what I did , go under settings -> accessibility-> keyboard & typing and enabled slow keys and set to 0.10 ms.

I am not sure if has fixed the glitchness with typing but definitely improved and it feels much smoother now for me and I hope apple could figure out the root cause and fix asap.

I’m having the EXACT same issue!

I thought it was the cheap tempered glass screen protector I got from Amazon…so I bought an expensive ZAGG one, and the SAME issues.

I praying it’s a software issue apple can fix…and not a screen issue 🙏🏼

The situation with the phone is terrible. From a device that’s supposed to be a phone, it’s expected that messaging and calling should work seamlessly. However, messaging simply doesn’t function properly. It’s like having only half a phone, and this disruption affects daily life significantly.

The recent update hasn’t improved anything—if anything, the issue persists just as badly. For me, this has impacted my work, as I now have to rely entirely on my computer to manage tasks that should be easily handled by my phone.

What’s most frustrating is knowing that Apple devices go through rigorous testing and quality control processes. Yet, anyone using this phone for even one day would immediately notice how bad this issue is. How could it possibly pass through quality assurance and end up this problematic?

Now, we’re all here waiting for a response, but no one seems to be addressing it. This is unacceptable.

Just got my iPhone 16 Pro Max today and I’m baffled by the unresponsiveness on the keyboard and toggles. My iPhone 12 Pro Max never had any of these issues. I really hope Apple gets this fixed quick as it looks like everybody’s having the same issue. Has anybody found it to have to do with the screen protector?

Everyone should definitely submit feedback through here, to get a resolution processed faster.

My 16 plus is also having accuracy issues…

it is not targeting the tap correctly

and is autocorrecting to some really strange words!

I just got the 16 Pro Max on Monday and am having the same issues with my keyboard. I don’t remember having this many issues ever texting on an iOS device as I have with this new phone. I have to proofread everything to make sure that I didn’t miss a letter somewhere
