iPhone 16 Pro Max keyboard issues

the latency issue is very annoying and the keyboard doesn’t appear when i have to fill forms.

Have an update been added? I can barely text on here!! 😡😡😡 Just got the phone today!

Same here, keyboard is very slow when typing, lacks responsiveness. I have to click twice if not 3 times on the same letters for it work. Very annoying. I hope the next update fixes this issue

try going to setting -> accessibility-> keyboard and typing -> key repeats and turn it off. seemed to help me for the most part

I echo everyone's comments under this thread. It's ridiculous!!! And driving me CRAZY!!! Apple needs to fix this asap

I've had this keyboard issue since day 1. I heard the recent update was going to fix this issue, but if anything it made it just a little bit worse for me. I wanted to chime in here, so we get a quicker fix!

There is an update coming in like a day or 2 I believe. There is also one more thing you can try that I have not. If you have a Mac pc or laptop you can plug your phone in and back it up on the pc, and then restore (basically erase everything on your phone, but can be retrieved from the back up) and re-update the iOS update and set up your phone once more, but I don’t know if that will even work.. my mom has no issues with her iPhone 16, but she also didn’t get the Max. Apparently the iphone 16, and 16 pro had keyboard issues from the start and they sent out an update to correct that issue. Now the pro max, which is what we have, is having that issue. You can wait for the update like me and hope it fixes this issue, which by now Apple has to be aware of.. iPhone 16 isn’t all that great anyway like I thought it’d be tbh.. but my iPhone 12 Pro Max was completely malfunctioning so I’m stuck lol. You gotta choice at least lol.

I just got my iphone 16 pro max and i am having the same issue. The delay is so noticeable. It’s frustrating. I switched from 14 pro and it’s was very smooth and i had ios 17 there. I am gonna update to 18.1 and see now. It’s not the screen protector

3-Camera Control

4-Turn it off / Slide to left.

*Come back and try typing anywhere you want, fast response to keyboard across!

Common Apple , This is very easy fix and very irrelevant bug

One thing you might try is to enable extended predictions under dwell control and set it to 0.25 ms this has helped me a bit. Though there isn’t a direct relation for this settings to typing experience and I’m not sure could be bug but I have been trying things while waiting for the fix and found out this has improved the spacebar and backspace tabs feel less choppy , hope this helps.

I'm starting to resent my brand new pro max cause I can't type! when the **** is a software fix going to come out?

I literally had my new 16PM today and it’s beyond bugging me with the typing lag. My iPhone 12PM has better response than this!!!

iPhone 16 pro max keyboard is non responsive and takes several touches for each letter. FIX THIS!!! It’s An expensive phone and doesn’t work right?

I honestly feel like this is a hardware issue and they’re deliberately being quiet about it…

I just upgraded from a 13 Pro Max to a 16 Pro Max last night. After doing so, I immediately noticed the sluggish keyboard while typing. Like many of you, I had first assumed it was from my screen protector.

However, I saw sina1367’s post (page 11) saying that this had something to do with iCloud syncing.

I checked mine and saw that it said my iCloud Syncing was Paused on Messages. So I went into my iCloud settings and forced a sync of my messages to iCloud. After that was finished, my keyboard was no longer laggy! I hope this helps!
