My bank cards in wallet have stopped working

There are a couple things you can try. I’ve listed them below from simple to more time consuming.


Forced restart takes just a minute or two and could resolve the issue. It’s much more than simply turning your iPhone off and on. I’m posting a link below with complete step by step instructions.

Removing the case may help. Components do age, but your iPhone is not that old. However, thick cases are a known issue.


Update the iOS on your iPhone to iOS 18. It could resolve the issue. If you’re iPhone goes in for service, Apple will automatically update your iOS.

Lastly, contact Apple Support and request Remote Diagnostics and pay particular attention to the NFC module. If you’re in the US please call 1-800-MY-APPLE or outside the US, consult the support articles below.

There are other steps to try, but you at least need to review the steps above and do the first two steps and try the cards again.
