Apple Cash (Geen Dot Bank) and Fraudulent charges

Green dot bank will not support you. Apple Cash is handled by Green Dot I had fraudulent charges on Apple Cash.A company iv’e never heard of charged my account $99.50 multiple times until my account was emptied out. I filed the claim a the person that filed it said it was definitely fraud and easy to see. It was denied and I lost hundreds of dollars because I didn’t have information about the charges. Your the bank the only info I had was what you show me. The company literally says it’s a software company and after searching online it’s a scammer company. Yet Green Dot won’t give me the money they paid them out of my account. Don’t use Green Dot Bank and don’t use Apple Cash unless you like giving your money away.

The full number of the virtual card is now disclosed and can be used online at websites that allow you to manually enter your card data.

iPhone > Wallet > More button in upper right corner > Card Number > you’ll see card number, expiration date, CVC number and Network. At the bottom of screen is link to last 4 digits of Apple Pay number.

It’s also possible to add the account to financial/budgeting software which can be compromised.

It’s possible that Visa may offer some fraud protection. However, prepaid debit cards rarely offer fraud protection.

Have you ever entered the Apple Cash card numbers into a website?

Never had a problem with Apple Cash in the 6 years I have had it. Use it frequently to spend Apple Card cash back money at retail locations, but would never enter the card numbers manually on a website. I actually think it was a bad move to even disclose those numbers in the Wallet app.

Jeff is the go to source for resolutions and recommendations to resolve these kind of issues. Not sure about the protections offered when manually entering the card numbers, but for me, that is something I would not recommend.
