Green Dot Bank/Apple Cash direct deposit routing\account#
That’s really strange because I have five prepaid debit cards that have routing numbers and account numbers and two of them are green dots green. Dot does provide that for all other other prepaid debit cards but I guess for some reason the powers that be didn’t Apple Cash have the ability that all other prepaid cards have
I have multiple prepaid cards as well, issued by Chase, Bank of America and others but none of have routing or account numbers.
The difference is the type of account. If there is a routing number and account number, it a demand deposit account, not a prepaid debit card. The different accounts are regulated differently by state and federal banking regulations. Your demand deposit accounts may have additional features and benefits not available to prepaid accounts. This may include overdraft and fraud protection.
Apple Cash accounts are not a demand deposit account. It is a prepaid debit card and as such does not have a routing number and account number.
