Screen of iPhone 16 Pro Max unresponsive after iOS 18.01 update

Updated to iOS 18.0.1 this morning in hopes that they fixed the touch screen issue. Although it has reduced the occurrences, it is still missing taps / swipes. Remains to be a large inconvenience.

Currently on an iPhone 16 pro max. Debating on switching everything back over to my iPhone 12 at this point.

I have updated to iOS 18.0.1 on my iPhone 16 Pro Max and it has not fixed the touchscreen issue at all! I cannot even type properly anymore. I wanna return back to my iPhone 15 Pro Max instead. Apple needs to fix this asap! This is so annoying!

same thing happened to me. i went to go return my 16 pro max 512gb and got a replacement. the screen is still unresponsive. this one is even more worse than the previous. tab and swipes are frustrating for those who enjoy a smooth and buttery performance. its really sad. if by october 23rd this isnt fixed ill return the second replacement and request a full refund and i'll urge everyone to do so until apple wakes up, and carefully build, and test their software thoroughly before releasing it. all they care about is their targeted coins every septemeber, but sadly customers are catching unto it.

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch, then tap Haptic Touch or 3D & Haptic Touch. Choose the touch duration—Fast or Slow. On an iPhone with 3D Touch, you can also choose the pressure needed—Light, Medium, or Firm. Test your new settings on the image at the bottom of the screen.

Does your iPhone 11 still have its original battery?

And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

Its strange for this to be hardware issue , since all phones are doing exactly the same.

people on web are generaly eviil , I dont understand why.

some claim that thay have resolved this issue by reinstalling ios , and then restoring all data manualy , not form i cluod.

also , some say to wait for new update , some say that is harware issue.....

dont know what to think?

Literally this is so irritating! it is also happening with my 12 Pro Max. taps sometimes don’t respond i also feel that when i am scrolling on instagram or facebook my phone misses swipes & its just so irritating. i have to wait until december for ios 18.2 :( when i zoom in a post on instagram & let it go to scroll down my phone misses a swipe every single time. at first i thought my screen is broken or something but it happens regularly on different apps on like specific spots in the app or system UI over all so it’s not a screen fault any way. updating to ios 18 is the worst decision i have ever made

I have said this before , will say it again.

Apple has fixed issue , but , you need to do your part at lest for the time.

First step ,turn of predictive text and anything with that.

Second step , reset keyboard and dictonary.

Third step , add two languages on keyboard , and then restart phone.

It will work good for some time , and then tha lag will start.

When it starts , just select earht or globus icon where you transfer secon language and that is all.

Phone will be fast as lighting
