I was trying to make a purchase in the playtika store. When it came time to purchase my credit cards showed up as options but not my Apple account in my wallet. I specifically put money in that account for this purpose. What is the problem here?

The problem is funds in an Apple Account are exclusively for the purchase of Apple products and services on Apple.com/store and Apple Retail Stores. The Apple support article I linked below explains what an Apple Account may be used for.
