Request to Activate Apple Wallet Feature in India

Dear Apple Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concern and provide feedback regarding the availability of the Apple Wallet feature in India.

Recently, during my travels in Rome, I faced a difficult situation where my physical wallet was stolen. Unfortunately, this led to a lot of inconvenience, as I had no access to my cards or payment methods at that moment. I realized that if the Apple Wallet feature had been active in India, this situation could have been easily avoided. I would have been able to make payments directly through my phone without the need to carry physical cards.

In light of this, I kindly request that Apple considers activating the Apple Wallet feature for users in India. The ability to add and use payment cards directly through the Apple Wallet app would significantly enhance security and convenience, especially for those of us who travel frequently. Given the increasing digitalization and the shift toward cashless transactions, I believe this feature would be highly appreciated by users in India.

Thank you for considering my request. I look forward to a positive response and hope that this feature is made available in India soon.

Best regards,

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 18

There are several barriers that prevent Apple Wallet from being implemented in India. Banking regulations do not currently allow biometric identification (Apple Face ID). Face ID is understood to be more secure than a simple passcode.

Location of servers and data they store is an additional issue to be resolved. Because Apple only stores encrypted data, and Apple doesn’t have the key to decrypt, are privacy and security concerns. Google has much lower privacy standards and user data is more exposed.

For example merchants have an option to receive your entire credit card information in decrypted form using Google Pay. This exposes your information to hackers should the merchant be hacked. Apple Pay only uses dynamic tokens and the merchant never receives your personal or financial information.
