Not sure where you were attempting to redeem the Gift Card or where you are seeing that message, but a full screen shot of that page would help determine what is happening.
Where did you get that message. How were you trying to redeem your gift card? Apple does not use messages like >Dear Customer<. What exactly were you doing? You’ve probably been scammed out of your gift card funds.
