Scrolling up/down in iPhone mirroring with head pointer

Hi, I have a question about iPhone mirroring while using head pointer control.

I am frequently using head pointer with my Mac. So the new iPhone mirroring to Mac is a real game changer for me. Because now I can't use my iPhone with head control from my Mac.

My question is about the only problem I am experiencing. Everything is working great with iPhone mirroring. I can't scroll down and up with head control because scroll bar is not working in iPhone mirroring app. Normally in my Mac when I need to scroll up or down in any window, I use scroll bar.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a plausible way to make this working?

As you suggested, I wrote to the accessibility desk here is their answer and the solution for our problem...

With the Accessibility Keyboard for macOS, you can set up Dwell to scroll while using Head Pointer to scroll with iPhone Mirroring.

As an example, You can customize the Accessibility Keyboard to just include the “Scroll” and “Pause” actions. With Dwell enabled, you can activate the “scroll” action, and then scroll in iPhone Mirroring.

Hello Luffnet

I cannot find a way to scroll in the phone app, which is a big limitation, if not a showstopper. Scrolling is a basic need to make the app usable.

I tried using the "Drag" button in the accessibility Keyboard but this did not work.

I also tried voice to see if the commands work in the phone window, but I could not get this to work consistently, if at all.

You could email the accessibility Helpdesk (accessibility@apple.com) to see if they have any ideas. It may need some feedback to developers to get this basic issue fixed.

Hi there,

No, I don't have the problem that you've described. It's not easy to use, but that's not about only scrolling.

I'm using the dwell feature for the first time so I'm not very used to it. But after using it for a time. I think I am going to get used to it.

Your problem may be caused from switching in between the dwell actions. It's a problem that I'm living with some commands
