Apple Intelligence on iPhone 14 why isn’t it there?

I want the iPhone 14 to have the Apple Intelligence, but it’s just not there. Why won’t Apple put it on iPhone 14? I have to go buy a new iPhone Thanks Apple

I mean, yeah I get white iPhone 14 doesn’t get Apple Intelligence, but if the iPhone supports iOS 18, then at least add the glowing thing for Siri

Does the iPhone 14 Pro have Apple Intelligence?

No, it isn't capable of Apple Intelligence. Apple Intelligence requires an iPhone with at least 8GB of Ram, which an iPhone 14 Pro doesn't have. You'd have to own an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max or any of the newest iPhone 16 models.

Looks like iPhone 14 doesn’t have a strong processing power to handle it. You need to buy their newer phone.

I saw what you actually wrote. We don't care if you go back to Android. Doesn't to matter to us users at all. But oh, how you'll be surely disappointed. After a couple generations, your Android, which was new when you bought it, will be in the same boat. That means that new features are rolled out with the newest phones and just like iPhone, not all phones will have the hardware required to support those new features. Technology moves faster than hardware and there really is no cell phone which is future proof. So, buy an Android. That's fine and your choice to make. But in a couple short years, you'll find the same scenario as your iPhone 14 not being able to support Apple Intelligence. But your iPhone 14, will be supported for several more years. And it doesn't do any less than it did the day you bought it. It got iOS 18. It will likely get iOS 19 and so on. In fact, Apple tends to support iPhones longer than Android does. Your expectation that your phone should get every new feature available on the newest models, is what is unrealistic.

Good luck with that Android.

What happened to their “less is more”? 4GB was more powerful than 8GB from their perspective 😁

That makes no sense. Who suggested 4GB is more powerful than 8GB? Can you post where that grain of nonsense came from?

Then apple should have made it with better everything💀

But they did. They made it all better to work on iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max and all iPhone 16 models. You simply can't expect a phone released over 2 years ago to be able to run all the new features. If you want better everything, buy a new phone. There, problem solved.

Surprise! This is a little thing called technology that advances every year. The phone you purchase today won't even have the same capabilities of one purchased 2 years from now. It has been that way since the introduction of the very first computer and will continue far into the future. Hang on, the technology train makes no stops.

Guess I’ll buy a Samsung or Motorola or Google pixel next time I need a phone

None of us really care what phone you purchase next time and would always suggest to get the one that best meets your needs. Whether that is an Android or iPhone, make sure it is the latest model, since even the older Android phones don't support all the features found in the latest OS version.

It has always been the case that Software outpaces Hardware and it will continue to be that way well into the future.

I would recommend to get whatever phone you want, nobody really cares what that is. You should also check out the Samsung support forums, where ironically you see the same posts where users are fed up and switching to iPhone. It seems to be the standard knee-jerk reaction whenever a user does not like something. Good Luck!

i would prefer it does not get the glow, if its not really apple intelligence. its purpose is to remind you it just scanned the screen without asking every time someone in the same room as you says "seriously?"

Sorry, but the glow you see is not some sort of engineering marvel that required Apple Intelligence to accomplish. It simply replaced the old circular Siri symbol that would appear on the bottom of the screen. Not sure what you mean by "it just scanned the screen", but sounds like you went down some rabbit hole. Seriously!

I imagine we won't hear any further argument from this user. Yes, the facts speak volumes. I hope they're blissfully happy with their Android. Which they likely will be until the very same scenario hits them as it surely will.

But then, what do I know? I'm just an iYap! 😉

I'm not sure why you think it matters to me or anyone else here if you go to Samsung. You should use what you think is best for you. But if you think after you buy a Samsung and then a couple years later Samsung introduces a new major feature that the phone you own, which is a couple years old, will get all the new features, think again.

Apple Intelligence: If more processing power is needed than what is available locally, Apple uses so-called Private Cloud Compute (PCC) servers ...

You misunderstanding is thinking that Apple Intelligence is a singular feature found in ChatGPT for asking questions and getting a server side answer that is sent to you. Apple Intelligence is a package of features that requires more processing power that is found on the newer devices, most of which are done on device.

The choice is yours, use the server side processing of ChatGPT to answer your questions or get a phone that can handle the features of Apple Intelligence. Ever since the first computer, Software has always outpaced Hardware and that is going to continue in the future.

Wrong, you have to specifically allow requests to be sent to ChatGPT.

You control when ChatGPT is used and will be asked before any of your information is shared. Anyone can access ChatGPT for free, without creating an account.
Apple Intelligence - Apple

“As far as I understand Apple is paying OpenAI something for this service, but in exchange they refer OpenAI new customers to purchase a full subscription.”
• What information do you have that Apple is paying OpenAI for something? For users that choose to make heavy use of ChatGPT, you can subscribe to the higher tier service they offer to:
Allow access to more advanced models
• Higher limits for photo or file uploads
• Real time conversation with ChatGPT

“It could be a combination of two, who knows. It has nothing to do with RAM/CPU/etc.”
Wrong again. It has everything to do with RAM, Processor Speeds, and the extra GPU cores needed for the on-device processing that is essential for the Apple Intelligence implementation on the iPhone. Any phone can use the ChatGPT app for server side processing of requests, but for privacy/security it is on-device processing that makes Apple Intelligence far superior, but does require more resources.

“The iPhone 14 Pro is more than capable enough.”
• It is not! I have seen Apple Intelligence attempt to run on unsupported devices and it is dreadful. Slow operations across the board with crashes that require the device to be constantly rebooted. If Apple put it on those phones, instead of users whining about not having the feature, you would see these complaints here:
Why did Apple slow my phone down.
• My phone is crashing all the time.
• Apple made my phone unusable so I have to purchase a new one

Well said, Mac Jim ID. Very well said. I wish everyone confused about Apple Intelligence would read this comment.

Thank you for everything that you, lobsterghost11, and other high-ranking members are doing! You guys are awesome and deserve so much more than you get.
