voiceover and Instagram Stories

I have a friend who's blind and uses VoiceOver to have things read to her on her phone. It appears that VoiceOver can't read Instagram stories well enough to indicate when something, like a "mention" sticker that you could click to visit another account, does not appear as a link.


Has anyone here experienced that, and is there a fix somehow?
