How to set search to default to my library instead of Apple Music?

The search in the most recent iOS version is defaults to the Apple Music, even when it’s disabled or I’m not a subscriber.

Is there a way to make it default to the Library option rather than having to change it manually every time?

Lately,

I became more disappointed than Apple.

Thank you!

Having this same issue and was hoping it was a bug. It’s very annoying having to change it every time I want to search for a song.

Please don’t use dark UX patterns, Apple.

I came searching for this, because I thought I was going crazy at first! It used to just stick to whichever you had selected previously I believe, and now it defaults to Apple Music. It’s like I have that song in my library. This is not making me want to purchase Apple Music, quite the contrary.

Unfortunately while this setting does remove the big Apple Music ad on startup, tapping the search field STILL defaults to an Apple Music tab.

This is so annoying. I ONLY listen to music in my library and want that to be the ONLY thing displayed and searched. I don’t want to see any Apple Music or Radio options let alone have to toggle away from them.

Also, I can’t believe we still don’t have the ability to designate “favorite” artists or albums that allow for ultra quick access (like a Safari bookmark).

This app is just so clunky and unintuitive and it’s been around for a decade. Apple hardware is sooo good. This app really drags everything down. Sigh.

If anyone from Apple cares to listen, I recommend just having the choice between “Apple Music” or “Library” remain on whichever one you chose last. That way you can continue spamming us with Apple Music because we will still see it every time we search for something, yet you don’t create an annoyance.

Or just go with what should really be done and make Apple Music a separate app. If you want to please your shareholders, focus first on making products that people love. Some of us have a lot of music that we have collected over years and can’t afford another subscription service. We save our money to buy Apple products because we know they’re reliable and are the best. It’s a slippery slope, so please don’t go down the spammy path. What are we going to have to move to Linux-based phones at some point?
