Why can’t I drag my photos to iMovie
I’m trying to edit movies in iMovie and I can’t seem to drag and drop the movie clip to work on.

Hi,
Would you describe the steps that you are taking to drag the photos, and what happens when you try?

Hi Rich,
I can move my media that I want to work on to the upper left-hand part of a project on iMovie, but when I try to drag and drop it down into the lower portion where I can now do some editing it does not permit me to do that. I hope that helps clarify what I’m wrestling with. Thank you.
Hi,
Try deleting preferences and see if that cures it. To delete preferences, open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new empty library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. (To reopen your old library close iMovie and go to your Movie folder or wherever you have your old iMovie library stored. Double click on the library’s icon.
iMovie will open in that library.) Possibly you may need to reboot to set the changes. Deleting preferences is a safe procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project.
If no luck, try creating a new project and see if you can drag in your media from the media browser to your timeline. Alternatively, you can select the media and click on the + sign in the lower right corner of the clip.
