Vision OS2 headlines quote "Use AirPlay to mirror to Apple Vision Pro" on the Vision OS 2 page

I would really like to mirror my MacBook Pro (2017) display to my Vision Pro as it has fallen victim to the display cable fault which Apple have washed their hands of.

On the Vision section of the website under 'Learn more about Vision OS2' the headlines quote "Use AirPlay to mirror to Apple Vision Pro". This was not possible under previous releases of Vision OS but if Apple's own webpage is stating (in BIG, BOLD letters) "Use AirPlay to mirror *to* Apple Vision Pro" could someone tell me how to do it (Vision Pro still doesn't appear in the list of devices under the Airplay symbol).

I have 32bit software that won't run under any OS later than Mojave so upgrading to Sonoma and 'connecting' to the Vision Pro would negate the reason for trying to save my old MacBook Pro.

One can mirror the macOS display to the Vision Pro via AirPlay. This feature is supported using the Vision Pro’s native display mirroring and virtual display capabilities, as long as both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network and meet the system requirements.

Steps to Mirror macOS to Vision Pro via AirPlay:

1. Ensure your MacBook Pro and Vision Pro are on the same Wi-Fi network.

2. On your Mac, go to System Settings > Displays.

3. Click on the Add Display button, then select your Vision Pro from the list of AirPlay devices.

4. Once connected, you can choose either Mirror Display or Use as Separate Display to configure the screen.

Oldest Compatible macOS Version:

• AirPlay to Vision Pro requires macOS Monterey (12.0) or later.

• Earlier versions of macOS do not support Vision Pro AirPlay functionality due to the required AirPlay 2 protocols.

Oldest MacBook Pro Model Supported:

• The oldest MacBook Pro models supporting AirPlay to Vision Pro are:

• MacBook Pro (2018) or newer, equipped with the T2 chip for enhanced AirPlay compatibility.

• MacBook Pro (2015) models with macOS Monterey may support AirPlay but with limited functionality.

For the best experience, it’s recommended to use newer MacBook Pro models running macOS Ventura (13.0) or later, as they fully integrate with Vision Pro’s advanced virtual display capabilities

Thank you Dragon_Drop for taking the time to address my issues.

Unfortunately, as I mentioned in the edited version of my original post, I'm running Mojave as I need 32 bit compatibility (to run a 'bought & paid for' version of Photoshop - which would be sooo much better on Vision Pro than having to mirror to a newly purchased macbook bought specifically for this purpose). I got my hopes up when Apple themselves said it was possible to use airplay to mirror to Vision Pro - I didn't realise there were any sub-divisions of airplay v2, so as Mojave runs v2, I thought Apple had made an effort to address an oversight.

Sadly (yet again) Apple has ignored the plight of their supporters and abandoned us in the name of 'progress' (or should that be 'profit'?).
