iMac won't boot due to full SSD

27” 2017 iMac will not boot. Appears as though SSD is full to capacity. Tried boot work around with: command R, command option R, etc. will not boot into safe mode. Apple tells me they no longer support this model.

Do you have an external drive with macOS installed on it – such as a bootable clone backup?

If you do, you could try starting up the Mac while holding down the Option (⌥) key to get into Startup Manager, to see if you could start up from that drive. Or hold down the D key to run diagnostics, although I don't know if those would do anything useful for you if the issue is that the SSD is full to capacity.
