Anyone Ever See This Screen Saver?
This past week I discovered that I had a battery issue requiring battery replacement with my Macbook Pro. I visited or spoke with three different parties who advertised that they repaired MacBook Pro systems. Apple performed its diagnosis and told me that they require that I give up my system for a minimum of 3-5 days and they have 10 systems in the queue. Apple's authorized dealer requires 5 days. I spoke with the telecenter representative at Best Buy. Yes, they do repair on site I was told. I made an appointment and visited the store. I explained to the rep that I know I require a new battery per the diagnostics performed at Apple. The rep took my system to the back for 15 minutes or more and then returned with my system only to say that he "Forgot. Best Buy doesn't perform any work on MacBook Pros and if they did, they could get fired." I immediately thought "Why did you have me wait 15 minutes while you had my system in the back room," and "Couldn't you have just told me that at the counter?"
I came home discouraged. Worked on the system till I needed to "rest my eyes." Ever been there? Hours later, you're waking up from a deep sleep? MacBook still on thanks to the charger. And I saw a unique screensaver on my laptop screen that I had never seen before. Perhaps normal? White screen. Large apple of a size in between a golf and tennis ball. And the name of my system in large black bold print: "[name] MacBook Pro (16" Purch in 2020)."
Have any of you ever seen a screensaver of that kind? I am hoping others have seen a screensaver of that kind. My antenna is up given that the image is not the traditional vineyards, California Redwood scenes, or fun brightly coordinated color streaks that Apple usually produces as screensavers. Having had this experience, I simply want to ensure nothing malicious exists on the system. Using Sequoia 15.1.
