Activation lock lost password for seires 3 watch

I bought this apple watch from a friend a few years ago, i've assigned it to an iphone 14, a year has passed and the iphone 14 has been replaced with a new one, i haven't touched my watch since before the replacement up until now, so it's stuck paired to the phone i don't have anymore. I decided to reset the watch so i can pair it with my new iphone, since it was locked to my old one for some reason. but the activation lock is now asking me to enter the password for my apple id when i setup the device. when i reset apple id password it still prompts me to use my old one even though its the same apple id, any ideas? i cant send an activation lock request since i dont have the receipt but it is tied to my apple id. any ideas on how to get around this activation lock?
