External Monitor shuts off when i close my laptop lid. I would like it to remain on.

Clamshell mode (Lid Closed)

I have connected:

[1]-keyboard, [2]-mouse, [3]-display. Power is not plugged in.(running on battery)

I saw people recommend changing a lock screen setting "Turn display off on power adapter when inactive" to NEVER. which i have that setting. WHen i close my lid i cant wake my display by moving mouse or pressing keys.

any suggestions?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 14.5

Power is not plugged in.(running on battery) ‼️ WRONG WRONG WRONG ‼️
  • Mac *MUST* be plugged into power if you wish to use Clamshell mode.
  • External keyboard
  • External pointing device (mouse, trackpad, trackball, etc...)
  • External monitor.

Because you are NOT providing external power, the Mac is going to sleep.
