Using Libre Writer, I save and close the document, then when I reopen it opens at the beginning of the document rather than where I left off. (It does not re-open at the cursor).

Command-Down arrow should set the cursor at the end of the document.
Likewise, Command-Up arrow should set the cursor at the beginning of the document.
Thank you, Urquhart1244 for taking the time to respond. To clariy, I am editing a long document and I would like Writer to re-open at the cursor, meaning where I left off as OpenOffice did.
Try the various LibreOffice support options.
