I need help with MBP UEFI issues...
I know that there is another post on here titled "MBP UEFI WINDOWS SOUND FIXED!!!!". First I must say that it took me weeks of searching, reading, trying to learn every chance i get, and lots of trial and error before I finally stumbled across the aformentioned post. Now I am by no means skilled in this area but I am no dummy either. I know that I must learn alot before I can understand the things explained in that post. So with that being said, I am requesting that someone with more knowledge than i, please help me with a walk thru that is more simplified and maybe if this person would be so kind as to teach me a little about what i am doing as i go through the steps. If that is asking more than is willing to be given, I completely understand and would happily settle with a simplified step by step on how to fix my same issues. For those who have not seen the post I am speaking of, I will explain my issues in which the post's author (TGIK) has found the fix for..
I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro 8,2. I was running Linux Mint Cinnamon on it after wiping the MacOs. Unfortunately, as much as I like Linux and intend to further explore it's vast world, I am have always been most fond and familiar with Windows. So I decided to wipe Linux (since I can make and have a bootable USB with it) and installed Windows 10. It all worked pretty well and, truthfully, the MBP runs the Windows OS pretty well. However, I did not find out until later that Apple has a little helper called Boot Camp. So I had to work out getting certain HW functioning properly. All went pretty smooth and easy except for the GPU and the sound. I have gotten over the GPU issue since I don't intend this MBP to be used for gaming. However that leaves sound... No matter what I do I cannot seem to get the sound working. I cannot even get Windows to recognize the presence of the built in sound HW. I has me mind blown over it because, fof course, sound worked fine with MacOS but it also worked perfect with Linux! I even tried Windows 11 and no score there either. I switched back to Windows 10 for better performance, but still stuck.
So needless to say I am soooooo very relieved to have found that someone has finally found a fix for these issues, but unfortunately in all the research i have been doing and learning I also have been doing, I havent taken in enough to understand how the author of the "MBP UEFI WINDOWS SOUND FIXED!!!!" post fixed the problem. So I am going to stop writing and simple end with "PLEASE HELP!" Thanks in advance!
