According to MacTracker, A2149 comes back as a MBPro 16" (2019) model. Save your money & purchase a new laptop. That particular model laptop has an extremely high rate of failure with its Logic Board. There have been reports on this forum where people had Logic Board failures immediately after having that Logic Board replaced (1st time use at home even), and a few report a third failure after which Apple denied them repairs.
I personally do not recommend anyone to repair any of the 2016-2020 Intel Macs with USB-C ports for multiple reasons, but especially not this 16" (2019) model.
As for the DFU firmware Revive/Restore process, I would provide Apple with product feedback here (Apple won't respond):
Product Feedback - Apple
I would even suggest contacting Apple corporate about the problem of not having another acceptable Mac to perform the DFU firmware Revive/Restore since it requires access to another new Mac...not even older Macs can be used. I doubt Apple even cares, but that is the best you can do other than voting with your wallet. The M-series Macs also require the DFU firmware Revive more often than the Intel Macs to resolve boot issues. Considering the Apple laptop and macOS have been slowly moving towards becoming oversized iPads without touchscreen, I doubt Apple will change anything since DFU Mode has been part of the iPhone/iPad universe since the beginning.
