High memory usage while browsing Facebook on Safari

Hello, I have an M3 iMac with 8GB of memory and 256GB of internal storage. I've purchased the computer this year and I'm currently running Sonoma 14.7.1 with Safari version 18.1. After I continuously scroll my Facebook timeline or video clips (reels) for example, browser performance decreases. When this happens, I usually check the activity monitor and see that memory pressure is in the yellow zone. If i refresh the page, memory usage drops and my experience is good again. However, If i continue scrolling/browsing through Facebook content, memory usage may even reach the red zone. I've bought my PC for basic daily tasks, I have no idea why it struggles in this way. I've been encountering this issue since I bought the computer. Installing another browser solves the problem, but I would like to use Safari. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!
