Facetime Spam Calls

Since a few weeks ago, I've received 3-4 facetime calls from random numbers outside my area code every day. I read some old posts from around four years ago and it seems other people have been dealing with the same problem, but no one has replied in years and I need to know if anyone else is still dealing with the problem. After a few days of the calls, I was added to a group of around 30-35 random numbers. The group was named "The besties" with a silly emoji at the end which would make me think it's my friends, but I know it's not. I haven't answered any of the calls, so why am I still getting them? Right after being added to the group, I blocked all of the numbers, but it showed I was still in the group, so I recovered the chat and left the conversation. The facetime call from DAYS ago is still going on with two random numbers in it and I can still see it in my facetime app.

The call I just got a few minutes ago was from an email, which hasn't happened before. Honestly, it spooks me a bit.

Are these spam callers trying to scam me? Are they trying to hack me? Just prank callers??

Is anyone else experiencing this?

(EDIT: They usually call in the middle of the night around 2-4 AM too. That's another reason why it spooks me)
