My Bluetooth headphone audio goes from high to low.

Whenever I connect my bluetooth headphones to my Macbook pro, they sound fine at first with the audio sounding similar to my iPhone's quality for being set to half (the 8th digit of the 16 on the volume slider). But once I interact with the video I'm playing or adjust the audio slider by even 1 single metric, the sound volume will drop drastically to the point that I can't even hear audio until the volume slider has been put to between 13-16 digits. I don't have any applications that are using my microphone, I have tried re-selecting my headphones, and I have made sure that my input in my sound settings are changed to my Macbook's microphone and not the headphone's mic. NOTHING CHANGES. I still have to put my volume nearly to max level just to hear audio. Additionally, this issue only started about 2 months ago and I've had my Macbook for over 2 years.
