MacBook Pro 16" M4 - keyboard issue when logging on only. how do I disable the password function to overcome this.

I purchased my new MacBook Pro 16" M4 chip - got it 1 week ago. it has always had an issue signing in using t the keypad on the laptop, but when I use an external keyboard it is fine.

its only when I log in to start the computer too, its very strange.

Can I disable the password function or change the password so I don't keep hitting this issue. it's only on letter O & number 8 both of which I use for the log in. any suggestions?

make certain those keys are working as designed, by looking at them with Keyboard Viewer:
