Keyboard Lag on iPhone (iOS 17/18)
Hi everyone,
I’ve come across multiple blogs, forums, and community discussions regarding an issue that seems to be affecting many iPhone users: severe keyboard lag in iOS 17 and iOS 18. It's astonishing how widespread this problem is, and it's frustrating that there hasn’t been an official acknowledgment or resolution from Apple yet.
Here’s the situation: The keyboard feels extremely slow and unresponsive, almost as if you're using an iPhone from 10+ years ago. For reference, I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and no amount of troubleshooting—resetting settings, changing options under “Keyboard,” or even restoring the device—has worked. Many other users report the same experience.
In rare cases, tweaking keyboard settings might temporarily help, but the issue inevitably returns. It’s particularly bad when multitasking, like trying to type while listening to voice messages on apps like WhatsApp. Some have even pointed out specific problems with certain words (like “Bee”), suggesting this might be a deeper software issue.
The big question: How can a globally recognized problem like this persist without a solution? Many of us rely on Apple for its seamless experience, but this glaring issue makes the devices feel sluggish and outdated.
Apple, we need answers. A note in the release updates or an acknowledgment in the support forums would go a long way. It's disappointing to see such a fundamental feature failing, especially when users like me—who’ve never even considered switching to Android—are starting to think twice.
Let’s hope Apple addresses this before more loyal users decide to move on. Have you found anything that works, even temporarily?
