How to transfer files from Android phone to Macbook Air M3?

I just switched to a Mac (used to use a Lenovo with Windows), and I’m stuck on how to transfer photos from my Android. On Windows, I just plugged it in with a USB and it worked. But on Mac, every time I try, it sends me to Quick Share for Windows.

Should I try MacDroid or OpenMTP, or just keep using Google Drive? Honestly, I’m sick of downloading photos from Drive, I miss just plugging in and saving to my Mac directly.

Any advice?

Try using the built-in Image Capture app. It should detect the Android device and show its contents.
