All of a sudden, my photo screensaver does not work. I am up to date with Monterey 12.7.6. Everything else on computer works fine. It just went blank and when I try to reset it in System Preferences, a blank screen comes up as if it cannot find my Photo Library.
Give restarting in Safe Mode a try (makes sure the keyboard is connected via the charging cable to the computer first) and then restart normally and test again.
Also, by chance do you have ANY of the following types of third party apps installed:
Just being turned off does not reverse the damage it may have caused, it must be removed.
All Mac OS needs to remain secure, stead and quick is to simply be kept up-to-date and restart the computer occasionally, like 1x per week. NEVER EVER install the types of third party apps I mentioned, they offer zero benefit!
FWIW, CleanMyMac has caused more problem than any other app one can install. If you do a search for it here in ASC, there are literally tens of thousands of reports of problems it has caused.
thanks for your replay. We have restarted in Safe mode and still had an issue. I do have all the things you have listed and I was wondering about that. Where would I start in checking it out. I have clean my mac and Avast which has security and VPN

We cannot tell for sure until you have removed them. The reason we cannot tell for sure is those types of apps sometimes damage Mac OS so just removing them still leaves a damaged OS. This is why I added the caveat to my last post that your system may require a re-install of Mac OS to fill in damaged or missing pieces if simply removing the apps does not fix the issue.
If the issue persists, then we can do a deeper dive and request an EtreCheck report.
VPN has been off as it interfered with something else.
If I uninstall all these, will it fix the issue or is the dagga done to the operating files?
