From Ventura to Sequoia

Hi,

I recently bought MacBook Air 13, M1 chip, Model No. A2337, Part No MGN63HN/A. My current OS version is MacOs Ventura 13.5. Now, there is a Software update popping-up in the System Settings. The new OS available is macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 with 9.26 GB. My query are:

  1. Should I upgrade it to Sequoia 15.1.1
  2. I'm not using iPhone, will upgrading OS helps
  3. Will it get slower after upgrading OS, because of 9.26 GB space
  4. Pros and Cons of upgrading OS and not upgrading OS
  5. What will happen to the previous OS version (Ventura), if I upgrade it to Sequoia
  6. Will the new OS carry more/extra space on the Storage, I mean, the current OS (Ventura) carrying 13.36 GB space on the machine. So, after updating it to Sequoia, will the OS Storage increased to 22.62 GB (i.e. 13.36 + 9.26 GB)
  7. What if I don't update the OS

Asking 7 questions in one posting is going to give you all kinds of answers


Most will be good to excellent


Some, not so much so


To simplify matters


Apple Designed and Built the MacBook Air 13, M1 computer to their ( Apple's ) Specifications


Apple Designed and Engineered macOS Sequoia 15 to function on this computer


Who would know better than Apple if this computer will work on Sequoia or Sonoma or Ventura


If Space, which seems to be the biggest element of your concern after performance


This machine you speak of, has what Size of SSD Drive ? That is a question only you can answer


Then, how much Empty Space is available on this drive ?


Generally, keeping at least 20% to 25% of the Total Drive Capacity’s as Empty Space is good computer practice.


As for upGrading or Not


That is subjective and no one can really answer that question for you, objectively
