All photos from last 3 months are gone due to apple backingup on my old phone.

I was using my iphone x for 3 years and a couple months ago i switched to an iphone 15 and transferred all my data to it but kept the iphone x just incase. 2 days ago i wanted to sell my iphone 15 so i backed everything up and resetted it. Since then ive been using my iphone x as normal again but i saw that none of my photos were synced and since the seller never came to pickup the iphone 15 i transferred all my data from the iphone x to the iphone 15 again and all my pictures from since i got my iphone 15 are gone what do i do. im scared that while using my iPhone x it backed up again and overwritten all my data causing me to lose all my pictures. i disabled backups on both phones for now but are all my pictures and whatsapp chats since i got the iphone 15 permanently gone now???

I fear that you may not have successfully copied all you intended to copy.

You haven't mentioned iCloud, so I'm guessing you aren't using iCloud Photos and there's no use looking there.

iPhones don't automatically restore from backups. But, if it's turned on, they will automatically record backups, including pictures. So if you had Settings>Apple ID>iCloud Backup turned on, then you may be able to recover data from the last 30 days or so at iCloud.com. You should look here:

View and manage iCloud device backups - Apple Support

This requires you to erase everything on your phone and replace it with the backup.

If you don't keep your own backups to an external drive, then there really isn't any place else to look.

I did the iphone icloud back up twice before i resetted my iphone though.
