Why can't I access my iTunes music after the update?

New Powerbook updated to Sequoia 15.1.1 last night. Today, I cannot access any music. I'm being prompted to signup for Apple Music in order to do so.

I have purchased many thousands of dollars worth of recordings through iTunes over the last 25 years, and feel that I have a right to play the recordings that I have purchased access to.

How do I access without being coerced into Apple Music?

What version did you update from? Did you update from an old computer to a new Powerbook? You should not need to subscribe to Apple Music to access songs you purchased or burned from a CD. See the 'macOS 10.15 Catalina or later' section in:

You may want to see the 'macOS 10.15 Catalina and later' section (and others) in:
