install in progress popup when restarting

Hello,

I was installing Adobe Reader, and I thought the installer froze so I forced quit the installer.

Now when I attempt to restart my computer, there is a popup (Install In Progress) that says "Your computer can't be restarted now, because software is being installed. Adobe Acrobat (Continuous) is being installed, interrupting the install may damage your computer. you can restart when the install is complete."

There is a progress bar that says it is "Running package scripts...) but it doesn't seem to be progressing.

Does anyone know what I should do? Leave it running to see if it will finish? Will restarting my computer actually "damage my computer", and if so, in what way?

Thanks

P.S. Sorry if this is in the wrong section
