2010 Audi A5 with MMI. to Ipod touch

It comes with an early thin connector for an Ipod. I have an Ipod touch. Is there an adapter that i can use to connect my Ipod?

You might have more luck with this question in a forum dedicated to the Audi, or by talking to other Audi owners, as it appears to be a proprietary socket on the Audi.

That said, I did an online search and discovered that on some Audi models, there is a connector in the glovebox. Is that the one your using? Whatever the case, the cable will also depend on which model of iPod Touch have. Earlier models have the 30-pin socket on the iPod, while later ones have Apple's lightning connector on the iPod. So you need the Audi to your model of iPod Touch cable.

I found a cable on the Audi website but I don't think it will be suitable for your model as it only lists A5s back to 2012. It might provide you with a clue towards find the correct cable: Audi site (not associated with Apple).

Nothing practical I suspect.

By now, those older iPods will have weakened batteries that simply won't perform. In my experience, once the battery fails, the iPod will not run even if it's connected to a power source. The (possibly) most successful iPod is the iPod Classic, but that has a hard drive in it, which will fail sooner than the solid state drives found in other iPods.

If your iPod and the car have Bluetooth (BT), can you try that instead. Even if your car does have Bluetooth, you might be using that already for your phone and most older BT setups will not allow two devices to use one connection.

Can you add your music to your phone and use it for both phone and music?
