Apple Music doesn’t work on my iPad

I’m an Apple Music Classical user. I’m registered with Apple Music and Apple Music Classical, paid up, no issues. I got the app started - with much difficulty - on Bruckner 8, 1st movement. But then it simply refused to play the rest. Press play as much as I wanted, no joy. Nothing happened. No other app on my iPad has the same problem. However, Apple Music Classical on my Android phone (yes, I know) works without problems.

My iPad is gen 7, IOS 17.6.1. There are no error messages. It’s just: press play, nothing happens.

Yes. Also removed and re-installed both Apple Music and Apple Music Classical. No joy on any of those.

However, I upgraded to IOS 18.1.1 which seems to have done the trick. At least for now, play actually starts when I click it.

You might also want to upgrade to iPadOS 17.7 or later and see if that helps. There have been a number of security and bug fixes since iPadOS 17.6.1.
