2 years of emails on iCloud have disappeared

I rralised on Saturday 23rd November that 2 years of emails had deleted this was after my iphone 15 was showing that there were no emails at all for a few hours, more than slightly worrying. I then thought that all emails had been given the wrong date until I realised that it wasn't the wrong date I had lost 2 years of emails now starting with an email from August 2024 one from March 2023 and then from 21st December 2022.
