Apple Music 'Genius' server error on MacBook Air with iTunes folder

"Genius results can't be updated right now. An internal server error occurred." I am having this error appear on my MacBook Air and I cannot access my Music Library on the Apple Music app.

I am able to sign in and sync to my account on the web, but not on the app. Could this somehow be related to the fact that my account is linked to a family plan? What does "Genius" mean? I have no files related it to it and it says it is a server error. Why does my MacBook Air have an iTunes folder? Is it necessary for the Apple Music app? I want to know if that might be the issue and if I should delete it. I've taken a screenshot of my predicament. I hope this isn't too many questions, I mainly want this fixed so that I am able to sync music to my iPod.
