Apple Music web player stops randomly
I spend most of my time on a Linux (Mint) laptop and I browse with Firefox.
I thought I would share my findings since this problem seems to affect a few of us.
I would start a playlist on apple music web player and it would stop after 3-4 songs. So I hit play again. It would play for another 3 songs and then stop... And so on... So after a few tests I decided it was time for a better solution.
Browsers nowadays are filled with security settings and ad blockers and anti-trackers, and this and that... This can very well prevent the "flow" of requests (for the next song) on a playlist.
Solution: I created a separate Firefox profile with low security settings. This profile is isolated and dedicated to the Apple music web player only. On Linux Mint, it's quite easy: I made a Web App (Firefox) and I disabled pretty much all security settings within this profile.
Here's some info on how to manage profiles:
Firefox (tor, mullvad, librewolf, pale moon, floorp...): https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles?redirectslug=profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles&redirectlocale=en-US
Chrome (edge, vivaldi, brave, opera, torch...): https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2364824?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform=Desktop
If you do this, you'll have to manage 2 profiles: one for normal everyday internet browsing (with normal security) and one for the web player (with low security). Now please please PLEASE, do not confuse both profiles and browse the internet with your web player profile...
Cheers!
