iOS 18.1.1 Update Issues on iPhone

Help. HELP. Help. APPLE is non-responsive on problems with 18.1.1 Update. My calendar is not searchable. My voicemails are gone. My battery is heating up during charging. This has to be fixed. This is the worst of the worst updates. So many parts of the phone not working properly. APPLE - what are you doing? Leave the formatting alone. And to add to the problems - after the update - had over 30 calls come in from spammers and unknowns - How do we get APPLE to withdraw 18.1.1 and/or fix these problems?

Even at 81 years of age and about ten happy years of iPad and iPhone use, This latest update has me fuming and bewildered. My needs are simple. I email, i google, i am active on Facebook, on Message, in Italian and English, on a number of other Apps. Now I’m fighting to do simple things. Why are these perfectly spelled words all underlined? Why am i getting i when I want I? Why do apostrophes no longer appear? I’m sorry, Apple, but you are battering some of us with far too much. Most people neither want nor need these levels of “exras” (notice how it hasnt corrected either “extras” or put the apostrophe in hasnt”. What is going on. I’ve loved being with Apple - on phone and iPad, but this latest update is a mess and I’m going to have to re think (!) my allegience .

I agree with everything you said and more. So, I made an appointment with Apple Genius Bar in Miami (yesterday) The guy told me that he didn’t know of any issues with 18.1.1.

I told him to look at Apple Community and X - there is so much out there about 18.1.1 being a disaster.

Anyway - he fixed nothing. Told me to kill my phone and reload it - but each APP would have to be downloaded one-by-one. He then told me the changes in 18.1.1 are what customers were asking for. I said “where”. He did not answer. He said - they can not respond to everyone’s problems. I told him lots of people are having trouble with calendars, voicemails, emails.

REALLY - they can’t fix this?

I think it absurd that I had to make an appointment and waste 3 hours - going to downtown - then waiting - then driving back. For NOTHING.

being a disaster.

I am Getting out of Apple - their support team is so non responsive.

I’m with you! So far, there’s no audio on my videos, and the focus has gone from my camera.. really hope they don’t try to say it’s intentional. I’m afraid to see what else I uncover, I need both of these issues corrected! Is it possible to uninstall an update?

My emails come in on the provider’s webmail( Shaw) but they don’t come in on my iPad and iPhone. Driving me crazy ever since the 18.1.1 update. I spent two hours on the phone resetting passwords, sending test emails and it’s all a nightmare since I had it working one time after many resets on everything from my router, to my email passwords on each device. Also good luck even finding your email accounts in Systems as it is now considered an App. So look under Apps. My provider cannot repair whatever has been done. Now what?

Since installing the iOS 18.1.1 update I’m having trouble in Facebook, on Safari, and in my message app. It’s very frustrating. In Safari no matter which search I click on I get the most recent one. I have to finagle my way around it in order to see sites that I have access to days ago! I sure hope a new update is coming out soon!

18.1.1 was fraught with so many problems, APPLE should be the one resolving the problems — with an immediate new update that backs out all changes except security critical ones — NOT the users who each paid hundreds of dollars for a phone that now does not give any indication when an urgent communication comes in through Messages app. What next? A telephone that doesn’t ring???

IPAD Pro update IOS 18.1.1

The update screwed up my email accounts. I setup subfolders and after the update I cannot access the subfolders. I have three email accounts, two with yahoo and the cloud email account. Additionally, the edit feature to remove tons of frivolous emails doesn’t work properly. Very frustrating. I turned off the auto update to prevent the same problem with my phone. At least via phone, I can access saved email.

After updating to iOS 18.1.1, I’m experiencing all sorts of problems. This has to be the worst update yet. My front-facing camera is unresponsive, the main camera freezes, and it can’t switch from rear to front camera. My iMessages and regular texts are randomly failing to deliver, and calls aren’t coming through. There should be a way to revert to the previous iOS version because this update is clearly a disaster and needs to be fixed!

I had really weird display problems on Calendar.

  • When I scrolled from Dec. 2024 to Jan. 2025, half of January was cut off, and any dates I clicked were in December.
  • When I scrolled to Feb. 2025 and clicked a date, it displayed a date in November 2024.

It seems to have resolved itself after I fiddled with the display options (Compact, Stacked, Details, and List - I usually use List). But it's quite disturbing to encounter such quality issues from Apple. I buy Apple because I want products that work reliably. If I wanted to spend my time hacking and debugging I wouldn't have bought an iPhone.
