RODE VideoMic GO II Not Connecting to iPhone 16 Pro via USB-C

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with my RODE VideoMic GO II when trying to connect it to my iPhone 16 Pro via USB-C. I've tried using both the original RODE SC16 cable and the original iPhone 16 Pro USB-C cable, but the microphone isn't being detected on my device.

Here’s the setup and troubleshooting I've done so far:

  • iPhone 16 Pro running iOS: Tested on iOS 18.1.1 and iOS 18.2 RC.
  • Other devices tested: The microphone works perfectly on iPhone 15 Pro and 14 Pro running iOS 18.2, using the same cables.
  • Other USB-C microphones: None of them are being detected on the iPhone 16 Pro either.

It seems specific to the iPhone 16 Pro. I’ve tried restarting the device, updating to the latest iOS version, and even testing multiple cables, but no luck so far.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue or found a solution? Could this be a hardware compatibility issue or a bug in iOS for the 16 Pro?

Looking forward to hearing your insights or advice!

** Rode official support says its working for them and they shared video and screenshots as well.
