Ipod cache on windows computer can it be reused to share photos from pc to iphone? Sometimes when syncing photos from computer to iphone it does not work. There is an ipod cache that was created - can it be left as is when trying to sync again? This is relevant for apple devices and apple itunes (windows 10).

It is a cache. It is intended to speed up the syncing process when little has changed since the previous sync, however if photo syncing isn't working correctly I would remove the iPod Photo Cache from your selected sync folder so it can be regenerated on the next sync attempt. Occasionally inconsistencies in this cache can prevent devices syncing. Removal is a safe option.

ok so you are saying it may speed up the process when syncing photos from windows computer back to iphone.
It might be actually used again if nothing has changed or hardly changed within the ipod cache (of computer photos in synced folder).
I would say that the sync often does not work but maybe because I am syncing over 50,000 photos. I also think with one of my older phones there could be something within the phone becasue it often does not sync as well as a similar older iphone.
That sounds like a very large number of photos. It may help to sync selected subfolders of your main folder, uncheck most of them, then slowly add in more content. That way each sync doesn't attempt to add such a huge number of new files in one go. It could also help to disable AV or exclude it from real time scanning of the source folder so that any iTunes file requests are not temporarily blocked. Long duration syncs may be disturbed by power saving features.

Ok thank you for the info. Every time you do a sinc though it deletes the one that’s on your phone and create a new one so I was able to do over 50,000 photos on another phone but like I said it doesn’t always work sometimes it does sometimes it doesn’t but I’ll try to consider what you wrote!
