iTunes on PC crashes while performing Restore on plugged-in iPhone

Currently using iTunes version 12.13.4.4. Plugged my iPhone 15Pro in to sync and create backup. After doing so, opted to update to iOS 18.2. After iTunes downloaded new iOS 18.2, it started to perform update. Status bar on iPhone barely budged, iTunes app closed on PC. Went to reopen iTunes, does not recognize any iPhone plugged in. Forced reset on iPhone, requires phone to be plugged in to restored. Uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes on PC, restarted PC, and same thing happened when trying to restore iPhone.

Windows, Windows 10

Download iTunes directly from apple. Not the Microsoft App Store. I had exactly the same issue. It worked for me.
