Creating keyboard shortcuts for accessibility feature settings on MacBook Pro

Hello,

I really like the accessibility features provided by apple, but I am missing some control options. With low vision I am using those tools all the time in different settings and combinations.

1)

Toggle between zoom views "full screen" and "split screen"

I want to change quickly between full screen zoom and split-screen zoom. In windows each mode has its own keyboard shortcut. Is it possible to create those shortcuts on a mac? I found a shortcut for toggeling between full screen and pip mode. Is it possible to modify this one?

2)

I want to toggle the switch for Accessibility->Spoken Content->"Speak item under the pointer" by creating and using a keyboard shortcut

If anybody knows something about that topic please share your knowledge.

I am really looking forward to "hearing" from you.

Thank you kindly for taking the time to reply. Sorry nothing there has helped. Am no expert in this area, yet your posts to the community deserves some response ... the more expert users are those, like you, who use te features most often.

On another tack than Accessibility: I guess you already know these tips, yet just in case:

The top menu in apps often displays keyboard shortcuts

Eg: In Safari's "View" menu : fn F toggles full screen on and off

Hovering over the green button in the top-left corner of a window offers choices of

  • Enter Full-Screen
  • Tile window to Left of Screen
  • Tile window to Right of Screen (illustrated below)

More info: Use apps in Split View on Mac - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"If you’re using an app full screen, you can quickly choose another app to work with in Split View.

Press Control-Up Arrow (or swipe up with three or four fingers) to enter Mission Control,

drag a window from Mission Control onto the thumbnail of the full-screen app in the Spaces bar,

then click the Split View thumbnail. You can also drag an app thumbnail onto another in the Spaces bar."

Re: "Creating keyboard shortcuts for accessibility feature settings on MacBook Pro"

Apple support has an article online (link at the bottom) that may be helpful:

Eg: From the link in the article below:

"Accessibility Shortcuts

With Accessibility Shortcuts, you can quickly turn accessibility features on or off using a keyboard shortcut, the menu bar or Control Centre.

To open the Accessibility Shortcuts panel, press Option-Command-F5.

Or if your Mac or Magic Keyboard has Touch ID, quickly press Touch ID three times.

Select the features you want to turn on or off, then click Done.

You can also access the shortcuts from the menu bar or Control Centre by clicking . If you don’t see the icon, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Control Centre in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)

To change which features appear in the list of shortcuts, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Accessibility in the sidebar, then click Shortcut on the right. (You may need to scroll down.)

Hello,

thank you for your answer. This is not what I am looking for, because I can't select the settings I mentioned with that method.

I need a solution wich is as easy as in windows. They make accessibility so much more accessible. I need to find short and easy workflows to enjoy this masterpiece of a macbook.

Anyone, any ideas. What about mousemovement capture - makro or automation to solve the two problems I wrote under 1 and 2.

Or does anyone know a good forum for viualy disabled. Others must have the same problems.
